Employment policy-

We are a well established privately owned company with many long-serving staff members. New recruits are always subject to a 90 day probationary period, standard hours are 8am to 5.30pm and occasional Saturdays. Some vacancies attract overtime payments and due to the nature of our business staff must be smart and presentable at all times since all roles involve direct contact with customers. (Sweatshirts/clothing are supplied with our company logo) All staff are expected to multi-task to some degree (within their capabilities) and flexibility over hours is as important as a positive attitude, honesty, integrity and common courtesy.

Driver/Fitter, reference GH

In addition to driving one of our 3.5 tonne company vehicles you will ideally be capable  of driving our 7.5 tonne Lorry and 18 tonne vehicles (class 2). In addition to being a safe and reliable driver you will assist in the fitting/installing of office furniture. Therefore preference will be given to applicants with direct experience of Hermann Miller, Steelcase or other systems furniture. As well as being a good team player you must have good customer service skills.

 

General Helper/Assistant

Full-time but flexible/varied hours

To assist/support the busy MD of a thriving Swindon-based business you must be reliable, honest, flexible and hard working. Duties will include cleaning/tidying office yard/outbuildings and common areas, animal husbandry, driving (clean full licence essential), running errands and whatever tasks are needed to assist the smooth running of a warehouse/logistics /furniture business and the congested diary/busy life of its owner/MD

Working from our busy Swindon Head office you must have an excellent telephone manner and positive attitude in this crucial customer facing role.Whether over the phone or face-to-face the sales office team are the first point of contact  for sales enquiries .Every member of this team must be able to process a sales transaction from start to finish. Given the logistical nature  of our business all team members must be excellent administrators capable of taking clear legible messages and,completing / filing relevant paperwork. If you are flexible over your duties/responsibilities /able to work 2 or more Saturdays a month  and have the capacity to work hard we will give you all the product training necessary to launch a career in this sector.Pre-requisites include numeracy,reasonable standard of literacy,attention to detail and above all a positive mental attitude.

 

Sales Agents, reference PS

We are embarking on the recruitment of a nationwide network of used office furniture sales agents. Territory-based you will manage your own diary and business development activity. Head office will provide you with marketing collateral and administrative support. After attending an induction training course you will visit Head Office regularly to ensure you integrate with the team and keep up-to-date with current stock and new clearances. As a commission only consultant you will receive generous open-ended earnings potential. With our support you must be self-motivated and self sufficient (with your own van for example, you will be empowered to handle some local deliveries yourself and rewarded accordingly) To apply please forward your CV/previous-current experience of sales in this sector and a draft “business plan” outlining your preferred territory and target customers. You should know that leads can come from local Chamber of Commerce, Educational Establishments, Federation of Small Businesses, Estate Agents, Lawyers etc etc plus your own network of contacts. Based in Head Office you will be an accomplished manager of people and processes . A hands-on approach and exceptional interpersonal/motivational skills will be essential if you are to complement the hard work and effectiveness of the current team. This is very much a role to enhance our expansion plans not just maintain the status quo.
